๐ฌ First, watch Maps for Kids: How to Read a Map (Free School)
๐ Then try: Treasure Map of Your Home โ Draw a bird's-eye map of your home with a key for furniture and doors, hide a small 'treasure', and use directions to guide a family member to it.
- Draw a map of your bedroom from above and add 4 symbols.
- Make a key explaining what each symbol means.
- Label N, S, E, W on a compass rose in a corner.
- Write directions from your front door to the kitchen using 'turn left' and 'go north'.
๐ญ Think about it
Why is a key important on a map, and what would happen if a map had no key?
